Gregory Charles Papa (born October 10 1962) is an American sportscaster who is currently employed as the play-by-play announcer on radio of the San Francisco 49ers. Papa also been a broadcaster on behalf of teams such as the Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, Oakland Athletics, San Antonio Spurs, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Giants during his career.

After finishing his studies at Syracuse University, Papa was an official on the Indiana Pacers’ television and radio broadcasting team from 1984 until 1986. After that, he moved to the west and, from 1986 until 1997, he served as the announcer on the radio on behalf of the Golden State Warriors (including the famous “Sleepy Floyd Game,” where the Warriors’ Sleepy Floyd scored 51 points against the Lakers in a playoff match). From 1997 until in 2000 Papa was the main announcer for his San Antonio Spurs’ telecasts. In the same time frame Papa was also the play-by-play announcer on television on behalf of the Oakland Athletics with Ray Fosse from 1991 until 2003.
